We operate at the intersection of architecture, object design, and material research.
Our focus is not merely on producing stone products, but on the intelligent transformation of Rare Iranian Stone into architectural surfaces, furniture, and precisely designed objects.
We collaborate with some of the most distinctive and limited quarries in Iran, whose stones are defined by depth of color, geological character, and structural integrity. These materials are rarely accessible beyond specific projects and regions.
Our approach is informed by the principles of Bauhaus: Clarity of form, functional coherence, and honesty in material expression.
For us, stone is not decoration. It is structure, weight, texture, and time compressed into matter.
Each product is designed based on the physical behavior of stone: its density, translucency, fracture logic, and surface response. Geometry is reduced to essential elements so that the material itself becomes the protagonist.
In our accessories collection, including trays, handles, and small objects, we utilize remnants from architectural stone production. Valuable off-cuts from premium slabs are redesigned and engineered into precise, durable, and functional pieces. This approach reduces waste while preserving the value of rare material.
Rayan was founded by Mohammad Arshadi, architect and interior designer, with a focus on stone as a material system, not merely as a surface finish.
After years of professional practice in Iran and later in Germany, the studio was established to create a structural link between direct access to selected Iranian quarries and the context of contemporary European design.
Rayan’s ambition is to elevate the position of rare stones within the international design landscape, not as raw commodities, but as designed materials with identity and cultural presence.
